V-Label, the world’s leading vegan & vegetarian trademark, is excited to announce a new partnership with the Middle East Vegan Society (MEVS) to advance clear and transparent labeling of vegan and vegetarian products in the Middle East region. The V-Label certifies food and non-food items that meet its stringent and controlled quality measures.

This collaboration marks a significant milestone in promoting plant-based lifestyles and supporting the growing community of consumers who are embracing veganism across the Middle East. MEVS will be working with V-Label in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Lebanon, Jordan, Bahrain, and Kuwait. With this partnership, V-Label and MEVS aim to empower consumers with reliable information about vegan products while fostering awareness and understanding of veganism as a sustainable and compassionate lifestyle choice.

Increasing consumer awareness of health, animal welfare, and environmental issues has driven the rapid growth of the vegan and vegetarian food markets. A trend that is expected to continue, and even accelerate. In fact, the plant-based foods market could make up to USD $8-9 billion by 20301 in the MENA region at a CAGR of more than 10%.1

V-Label’s internationally recognized certification system provides consumers with a trusted and standardized way to identify vegan and vegetarian products, ensuring transparency and facilitating informed choices. Through this partnership, MEVS will work closely with V-Label to promote the adoption of V-Label certification among producers and retailers in the Middle East, thereby expanding access to a wider range of vegan options for consumers in the region.

Commenting on the partnership, Martin Ranninger, Co-Director of V-Label, expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration, stating, «We are thrilled to partner with the Middle East Vegan Society to further our mission of promoting veganism worldwide. By combining our expertise and resources, we can strengthen the vegan movement in the Middle East and provide consumers with greater access to products that align with their values.»

The Middle East Vegan Society, known for its advocacy work and community-building initiatives, is equally enthusiastic about the partnership. MEVS’ mission is to help individuals, businesses and corporate companies make more environmentally friendly, healthy and just decisions across the Middle East and North Africa. Seb Alex, founder and executive director of MEVS, stated, «We are excited to represent the V-Label in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Lebanon, Jordan, Bahrain, and Kuwait. We are looking forward to providing local producers and companies with the tools to make their products stand out, increasing sales, and reaching customers throughout the MENA market. This partnership represents a significant step forward in our efforts to promote veganism and support individuals across the Middle East in adopting plant-based lifestyles. By working together, we can amplify our impact and create positive change.”
